    Bloodwork Question

I'm sure this question is asked a thousand times and I'm shocked it's not a sticky yet. But what panels should I get done before during and after my cycle. I'll be starting another cycle in about 6-8 weeks and would like to get blood work done 2 weeks before, 6 weeks in my 12 week cycle & 2 weeks after pct.

So a list of panels to get done and any other info would be much appreciated!

    Thanks!

Depends on how much you want to spend if insurance isn't paying for it. In the Finding A Doc sticky thread in the HRT Forum is a comprehensive list which would be great if covered by insurance. If not and you're going more minimal at least get the following:

    Pre:

    Testosterone Total
    Testosterone Free
    E2 Sensitive Assay
    CMP
    CBC
    LH
    FSH
    PSA
    Anything else curious about

    Mid cycle:

    Test total and free
    E2 Sensitive Assay
    CMP
    CBC

    Post (6-8 weeks after pct)

    Test Total and Free
    E2 Sensitive Assay
    LH
    FSH
    CMP
    CBC
    PSA
    Lipids
    Anything else....

That's off the top of my head. Hope it helps. Always more you can add and as stated, take a look in that sticky I referred you to. There's a full spectrum pre and post BW list there.

If you can get the first one there it's great. Good to have baselines on some of the lesser tested items like dhea, Vit D, etc....

Okay well I still have about 6 weeks of off time from last cycle but I'll get pre blood work done in about a month. Thanks kel, I'll post up results once the test are done and results come back!

    Thanks

related to the same question, so usually insurance only covers one or two BW per year but from what I see here is good to do blood before cycle and a few weeks later to check progress, so my question is how often do I really need to do BW? And in average bow much would I have to pay if insurance don't cover (just for the basics)

From my knowledge do blood work 2 weeks before cycle, half way point into your cycle & 4 weeks after pct.

Without insurance if you get all the necessary panels done BW can range $250-$400+ I'm guessing, IF you did all necessary panels. I've only done BW once without insurance at ************* in Texas and it was $195 for just a thyroid & test panels. Expensive!
