I think a person who is selected to be a mod should be someone who is tolerant of others, yet understands where to draw the line. a moderator should actually moderate these types of discussions. They should be able to overlook minor skirmishes and avoid silly fights. They are the people who police the board (as the staff here at AR has already said...knowledge doesn't hurt either).
Yes the proliferation of boards has sprung about some over night mods....myself being one of them.
I feel confident enough in my ability that such derogatory remarks...whether directed toward me or not...have little effect on me. My skin is thicker than that.
I will say you have a point about the recent mod explosion. I agree. I don't think it is a bad thing....if you are smart enough to do steroids, you are smart enough to get your information from more than one source. As I alredy said, the role of a mod is actually to police the boards (unfortunately we end up soing some babysitting from time to time...but that is part of it)...no that was not directed at anyone in this thread in particular...just a point.
