More great advice from the clowns @ GNC...

I just made a quick run to the GNC, usually don't shop there but I was completely outta creatine.

I remembered why I dodn't go there much.

I walk in, no one in the store but a 140 kid at the register.

140lber - "What brings you to GNC today?"

me - "Killing time."

I walk over to the creatine, looking for the smallest quantity I can find.

140lber - "Creatine is great for energy"

Me - silent

140lber - approaching me "Do you have a gold card sir?"

me - Turn around and make direct eye contact "No thanks."


Old women walks in. Thank God.

140lber to old women - "What brings you to GNC?"

Woman - "My knees hurt. I've read about something called Glucose for your joints. I think thats how you pronounce it. Or maybe glucosomine?"

140lber - "I recommend calcium."

me - hidden from their view - ":lol:"

women - "I take calcium, and it's in my Centrum. Isn't that for your bones?'

140lber - "yes, but it probably your bones that are hurting. This will make them stronger."

Me - with my back to them - ":lol:"

140lber - "BTW, I have something garanteed to be 5 times better than Centrum. It's right over here"

Me - "Mam, I overheard your conversation. I think your right about glucosomine (sp?). I've also read that MSM is good.

Women to 140lber - "I'll just take some Glocosomine.

I go to check out - 140lber -"do you have agold card sir?"

me - "No thanks"

140lber - "You save 15% the first..."

Me - "not interested, thank you."

140lber - "It's only $15, and you.."

Me - "Nope."

140lber - "Would you like to know how much you would save on this purchase with a gold card?"

me - "I...DON'T...WANT...A FUKIN.. GOLD CARD. IF I DID I WOULD ASK YOU FOR ONE. DO YOU GET WHAT I'M SAYING?"

I think the poor guy pissed his pants. He never looked up and his hands were shaking when he took my money.

Look, I know he was just doing his job, but jeez, like 4 times I was very clear I didn't want the danm thing. Up till then I was polite, but made it clear with my tone and words that I didn't want it.

I gotta admit that his exchange with the old women was almost worth the trouble. :wg:

As much as I hate GNC, they had a **** good deal on the new low carb Nitro Tech bars....30% off plus another 20% off of that with my Gold card...much cheaper than anywhere on the net...but only for certain items...oh ya, the expiration is 2/11/05 so they are legit...unfortunately there was no 140 lber...only two 240 lber chicks that were trashy and absolutely hideous...

It doesn't matter how much of a deal you get on $hit, it's still $hit.

Don't mean to offend, I just hate Nitro-Tech, Cell-Tech, and now they have Diet-Tech and soon Mass-tech. If they spent half as much on research as they did on advertising they may be able to scrape together an average product.

it kinda reminds me of the gym i work out at....some cool dudes work there, but theres one kid 140lber , kinda gives the new people the tour and tells them how to eat and workout and ****....I mean come-on...if i dint know **** and i walked into a gym and thwey wanted me to fork over $300 a year....they better not send a 140lber over to me , because id be thinking this gym aint gonna make me grow.

I love it when I am at the mall with my g/f or someone and I stop by a GNC and have a great time with the employees there. Asking all these questions, some stupid some not. I remember one time I went in asking about (in a weird accent/voice) "Salmonilla for the prostate" rofl the kid was looking for it and finally came across saw palmetto

When I'm not in the act of character assasination of female steroid board members, I try to punk out a 17 year old GNC employee at least once a week.

Hey, if it was easy, everyone would do it. It's the hard that makes it great.

They got a job and they try and do it right... GNC is just a source - you should go in there knowing what you need and what you don't... sometimes you run across a sales rep that knows a thing or two - but you shouldn't take their advice to heart... know what you need to get and get it - I have nothing against the franchise... clean shelves and rotated stock is all I ask for...
