So who here is a computer nerd?!?
Who here is an example of the ultimate societal contradiction, a living oxymoron, a fitness buff + computer geek??
I'm a designer / webmaster / programmer (php/mysql) mostly. And I LOVE running and lifting, for nearly 3 1/2 years now.
I love the look on people's faces when I tell them I'm also a computer nerd.

I am attaining more "nerdious" qualities w/each passing day, having to conduct biz on the Net 18 hours a day. Learned very much about firewalls, keyloggers, port sniffers, routers, dreamweaver, FTP, anti-virus applications, etc.
You have to, or you're left behind in regards to technology.

I guess Im in this category
I am Midwest IT Project manager for the largest food company on the planet. Never thought of myself as a nerd but I guess I do fall in the category. People are more surprised at the fact I ride a motorcycle that anything else.

I've been doing server support back when Novell was the OS to run on networks........ Now I'm doing server/network management and software and OS automation for the largest computer company in the world.
I do not look like a lot of my co-workers...... Oh well, better for me

I got myself an ATI All-In-Wonder card hooked up to my DVD, VCR, and cable TV. I have the Adobe digital video editing package running all of that and I'm making my own mini-movies. That's been my geek obsession as of late.

I am more frontend than backend... I know pretty much any software Adobe has put out as well as other misc, graphics and video stuff. Some programming... but muy poco...
Why ya got to be a NERD or GEEK anyway - computers are an indispensable tool these days... I think those that don't know hot to operate them are the NERDs now...
