We don't have anything like that...I guess my friends and I would be NHB/Gracie hardcore...LOL Just about everyone I hang with has had a cage fights, boxing, kickboxing, trains in BJJ etc. I haven't had my ass kicked in 4 yrs (knock on wood) and no one has ever lefy my side even if we were outnumbered pretty bad.

What he means by hardcore is a scene associated with hardcore music. You guys would fit in quite well though.. if you were into the music that is.

TXHC. san antonio to be exact. Far From Breaking are some hometown boys. Not too much of a scene here, but has been growing pretty rapidly over the past few years

Seriously, I'm not into the scene - corporate exec and all - but different people call different stuff hardcore. Do you guys mean Hatebreed and $hit like that?

Hatebreed would be a hardcore band...

Hell I put myself in the upper middle class catagory, striving to make upper class, but i didn't start out that way... I grew up with hardcore, it made me tougher mentally in the long run.

a lot of people would consider hatebreed hardcore, but a lot would not. I like the fact that hardcore has kind of made its way more into the mainstream. bands like hatebreed and thursday (call them hXc or not) arer super popular now. have you seen the 2nd stage linup for ozzfest?any guys like American Nightmare? they are my all time favs, and Bane.

Well, a few of my bros and I usually head out to Penn State a few times a year to see some shows like that. They are definitely more into the scene than I am but I dig it. Hatebreed was the last show we saw. Whatever the remnants of the Misfits were calling themselves was the show before that.

i would not say that most hardcore people are vegetarians, but some are. one time at a straight edge/ hardcore show PETA was there showing their animal cruelty video, and I'm responsible for a good amount of chickens dying, made me feel a little bad. but not bad enought to stop growing...

NYHC-IDS\Thug Squad here. been in the scene since 96. i still go to shows, still with my crew. yeah as mentioned above the ever infesting emo\metal crap is making hardcore obscure. i make it a conscious effort to take out them tight pants wearing fruitcups at shows.

i'm not vegan. i'm not straightedge (obviously if im juicing). hardcore made me who i am today. blah blah ill stop the preachin.

Hatebreed is a great band. the newer stuff aint so great though. Jamey is running out of things to holler about. Sworn Enemy are my boys. been with em since day 1.

isn't hardcore supposed to be about tolerance and acceptance? everyone has their own style, but we are all at the show for the same reason

The way i grew up.. hardcore was about not taking **** from anyone, sticking by your friends like family and learning how to throw a haymaker that can rock 10 people if you line em up. It was never about white belts and saucony shoes.

i agree that hardcore is about sticking up for yourself and what you believe in, respect/trust in yourself/friends/family, and also being one tough dude. I think it is also about being open-minded. It's true that it has evolved into a scene and people trying to score scene points with the right clothes/hair style etc, and that kind of sucks. but most true hXc kids arent about that..."can we start again, go back to what it meant back then, open minds and open hearts, the things that set us apart"-Bane

"some of us were born into happieness and wealth, while most of us were born into a life of hell. Some of us were lost, and some of us were found, but most of us were beaten by life to the ground. Yeah maybe ill never see the day that i win, but ill always have time for a beer with my friends, we'll fight everybody and the world till the end and if you fukk around with us you'll get your head kicked in"

"Hatred makes my world go round
Because happiness is something that I never found
Explain it to me what's the new trend
This week care to stop the hatred and violence
    Making a difference cuz that's what's in
Mommy and daddy will be proud in the end
Sick of all these spoiled pampered ****s
That get in my face with all their mindless babbling
I don't care what you think
    I don't care
I'll piss all over your hopes and dreams
What you believe and what you're about
Means **** to me because that's what I'm about
Too late to change me no chance in that
Just stick to living out your sheltered lives"

A little more fitting description of Hardcore IMO.

You wanna know about my life...it can be described in one hatebreed song. "concieved thru an act of violence" that and before dishonor are my all time fav. hatebreed songs.
