so folks...golf gti or audi a4?
2 totally different cars. I would prefer the Audi as it is not a hatchback...plus the AWD!!!
both are the same crappy company!
My frenchie drives an Audi A4 03, everything breaking in that ****ing crappy car!
crappy?....ive been driving volks since i was a kid and my mom had a volks .....i got a jetta right now...and i never had any problem ...,,,ur friend my be doing some things that he was not supposed to do ...lolQuote:

the A4 is a superior machine.. but I woudln't drive anything but a ford, chevy pontiac...
Volkswagens are the Chevys of Europe. :D
Don't spend alot of money on the Audi just to have a VW engine under the hood. You might as well just go on and buy the VW.
They're not too crappy. My brother's 90' VW Rabbit is still going strong.
Just what I love to see!! I had to pick between a Lexus 430/Benz 500 E class/ or a caddy DTS...I went with the American Car.Quote:

All the trimmings and more - looked like a proper drug dealers car! lol(and Hell I am not!!!!)
Anyway, apart from being bloody quick (ish) and having a lovely drive i had nothing but problems with it - the most recent is the most severe!
I had it taken in for a new Drive shaft about 2 months ago and whilst they were about to replace it they noticed that the rear subframe had pull/torn away from the submember making the car potentially lethal! The repair of this will cost in excess of 5000 pounds!
Never, will I buy a BMW again - luxury cars mr ar*e. I'd buy a VW any day of the week!
I would go with the audi 3.0 out of the 2. It doesnt take long to outgrow a golf.
I'd play golf before I drove one.
I'd be "audi" from the car lot before they could sell me an Audi.
I thought you wanted a CAR?

im not even gonna get into this convo cause i see what people are saying about my car lol. but hey, i dont see any of you doing this in your cars? ill leave it at that. if you wanna know about either car you can PM me, i used to be a VW/Audi tech at the local dealer.
You'd never see me doing that in any car. Not my gig...........
Props though......if that's your love, do it big man, do it big.

while it is slow in stock form, you can chip it and for about 500 bucks add 45 hp and about 60 ft/lbs of torque. just a reminder. the 1.8t motor can make about 300whp for about 2000 bucks.Quote:

Love the 7 and the M3.
go for the audi...the audi is far superior to a VW i like luxury...but i'd still rather have a mercedes clk or slk with the amg engine...
i just got the golf....Quote:

So you're saying volkswagon is king of europe correct?Quote:

I bought a used A4 2.8Q 190 bhp a couple years and I gotta say I still love it. Go with the audi bro you wont be dissapointed. I will say though they are not easy on the wallet with the amount of maintainance necessary to keep it up to par. Reliability is a real issue but as long as you have performance, luxury and ergonomics as your top reasons to buy a car youre in for a treat. One more thing, dont buy it if its not quattro! poor resale value without it. Besides its what separates audi from the rest.
