i just dropped my shi t housed friends off at a bar. they are going to pick up chicks and have a great time. i am drinking a protein shake right now, about to pass out because i have an organic chemistry class at 8 am. my life sucks as s right now but im pretty jacked up and every time im in the gym and the little babies are telling me how great i look or when i see all the other meat heads try to lift what i lift and fail. it makes it all worth it. just keep doing what your doing most people are fat, lazy bums who accept mediocrity and are mentally weak. since i upped my training i have taken a no holds barred approach to everything in life. obsession is the word the lazy use to describe the dedicated. peace.

Somehow and sometimes we champion that as a mark of our dedication when, in reality, it *can be* just as bad as the lawyer who puts in 90 hour weeks to the exclusion of his children, the doctor who takes on too many patients to the detriment of her marriage, or the teacher who allows the emotion of his or her job to negatively impact his or her own family. Yeah I know what you mean BG. Now, my gf knows better than to make plans on days other than my cheat days. Saturday is the only day of the week I set aside to eat whatever and whenever I want. Its the only day that I'm flexible. All other days I'm strictly business

Be careful. You may be hypoglycemic (which incidentally is good for bodybuilding purposes). BUT offseting your low blood sugar with sweets may exacerbate the problem in the long run. A better choice would be a low GI resh fruit. Apples, banannas, or citrus are cheap and stabilize MY blood sugar for a good 3 hours.

    BG,

I am in a similar situation to the one described. It's caused more disagreements than I'd care to admit. The thing is, you can eat healthy just about anywhere for a price; you just need to ask. Your typical resturant will take an order for plain grilled chicken breast with brown rice and steamed veggies on the side. They might charge you more than you think is fair but that's the price we pay.

As far as meal frequency is concerned. I've known several bodybuilders, preparing for competition to stuff ziplock'ed chicken breasts in their pockets. And if that's not feasible/too disgusting, then there are several good MRPs that will suffice.

Unfortunately, women don't always understand, and tend to over empathize. Often when I insist on eating extremely healthy while my girlfriend eats something normal, guilt will become an issue. She'll either feel bad about eating something delicious around me or feel bad about not eating as healthy as I am. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and have an unscheduled cheat meal. It won't halt your gains or add 5 lbs of fat, but the guilt will often bother you for days later. **** it. You're not preparing for a contest or photoshoot, and when you are then you have a trump card to play.

    Good luck.

    Hate...

Another thing I hate is the brains vs. brawn idea. If you look at some of the posts on here (especially of the guys using synthol, guys who can't spell very well, guys using asinine steroid cycles, etc.), you can see why most people would look at us big guys like morons. I'm college educated and most women I meet think I never went, let alone that I'm very successful now. They're always shocked and pleasantly suprised when I tell them.

I wish other weightlifters didn't act like morons. I do hang out with a good group of guys in the gym but the amount of stupid $hit I see and hear about amazes me. For example, there's this one guy there who's in his mid 40's who still talks about bar fights he got in when he was in his early 20's. Seriously, who gives a fu ck? If I'm like that at his age I'm throwing myself down a flight of stairs.

I could go on but I think you guys get the picture. I also think this website doesn't give a good representation of the average bodybuilder/power lifter. We for the most part seem to be on here trying to learn more about ourselves and each other. Most of these morons in the gyms I've been to don't know $hit about the internet and that sites like this exist.

Yeah, some knucklehead a few months back tried to tell me there were actually three heads in a BIcep muscle. He swore it was true and that's why some people have the peak... I just walked away in disgust.

Anyone else think the way I do or am I way off base here?

staying on a clean diet day in and day out is the biggest bitch for me... I love junk food. that's right, I'm not afraid to admit it. but you have to sacrifice to succeed, period!

The doctor carried a glucometer around with him or he siad your blood sugar could be low w/o taking your sugar, its just a guess based on symptoms which mimic many other conditions like being in the middle of a hard workout.

I hate telling people im a bodybuilder. The stereotypical image is of someone like cutler or cormier. @ 5ft8 and 182 i dont really measure up yet and people cant seem to understand that it takes time and just figure im lazy. For example, in my first year of training i gained 25lbs and my housemate criticised me for not putting on much weight or size.
