Who's giving the advice?
I think everyone should put a picture of themselves in their profile or avatar. (notice i like to show off my gf in my avatar so maybe ill put one in my profile)
Reason being that i wonder sometimes the advice people give, if they arent fat asses or something like that. Why would i want advice from someone who is fat or skinny for that matter. If it obviously hasnt worked for you, then why the hell would you tell me to do it?! Do fat people think they look good just because they are strong. NOOOOOOOOOOO, you are fat, it doesnt matter if you can bench press a buick. IMO

Being educated on any subject it TOTALLY unrelated to the way you look..

Perhaps, but you must see my point that there is a certain amount of irony for someone who is giving advice that hasnt worked for themself. Just a thought. I would rather get advice from someone who as actually been doing what it is they are preaching and it has transformed them into a figure that i wouldnt mind looking like.

Some people like to try to have some anonymity even if just a little.

If someone offers advice to me and is very sincere and helpful, I accept it regardless of their physical appearance. Not only do I accept it, I appreciate it.Last edited by slizzut; 07-12-2004 at 12:42 PM.

Ha, i didnt really intend to sound ignorant although I guess i did. I dont mean that you have to look good to be knowledgable. Just kind of saying that people have different ideas for goals. And i think sometimes advice gets sent from maybe someone who wants to just be really strong and doesnt mind weighing 300lbs, to someone who wants to weigh 200lbs and look slender.

Don't get me wrong though, I see where you are coming from. Taking advice from someone who you know it has worked for in the past and they have something to show for it, makes it that much more valid.

i guess in the end its good to be educated yourself so you can call people on stupid ideas. If you have the fundamentals down yourself you should spot the **** from the non ****.

I think I'll go with the second option

For the record - go ahead and keep your [current] girlfriend in your avatar - but their is a "Profile Picture" option in eveyone's user cp. You can put a 100X100 picture there too. Click my avatar and you'll see what I am saying.
BTW - I agree that seeing pics at least confirms some knowledge about someone. But for reasons above - to include genetic limitations from one person to the next (what works well for one person might not work for another - or perhaps work even better). I have met people that look incredible and don't know sh!t - and vice versa...
