    I need a Maytag man.

Anyone know anything about washers and dryers?

Recently one of the two have started leaving these little black marks on clothes. (Looks like a black grease stain)

I have taken part of the washer apart and can't find anything stuck in it. I have also looked in the dryer 'tub' and that looks fine as well.

It is starting to drive me nuts!

Anyone know what might be the problem?

Not a Maytag dude but it sounds like a bearing is leaking grease. If I had to guess I'd say it is the washer not the dryer.

Same here, i's either the bearing or the belt on the washer. When dryers start to go they chew little holes in your clothes from the tub pinching them. My guess is the bearing ring on the washer is shot.......how old and what model D?

Is your washer or drier makeing weird noises? The belt on the drier could be dry rotted or deteriating, and small peices getting into the bin and the heat melts it and dries it into your clothes.

If you have to try one, change the belt on the dryer first. Very easy and cheap. If that doesn't work get a new washer (bummer).

I had this problem before a few times.. once the clr fixed it.. the other 2 times it was oil leaking in..
Good advice.. have done this myself, and in the coffee maker...

Do the US bros have CLR though animal?

I would just get a new one buds, you ruin 3-4 decent shirts anc a couple pairs of pants and that is 1/2 the price of a new washing machine. Also, buying new saves you the mental anguish of playing backyard mechanic, unless you like playing Red Green.

My dryer that was only about 3yrs old started to leave marks on my clothes so
I pulled it apart and found the drum seal (wool type thingy for lack of a better word) was toast.
I replaced the seal and presto no more problems.
Might want to look at that.
