    The 10 pound rule...true??

I've heard that in order for 2 people of different heights to be the "same size" in proportion, theres a 10 pound per. 1 inch rule.

So someone that's 5'10" and weighs 180 would be the same size as someone 6'0" that weighs 200.

I am assuming this means with all other factors being equal. (bf, bone size, etc.). Anyone heard anything like this?

Sure that could be true...but like you said everything else would have to be the same....Plus, i wonder if everyones muscle, fat, ect. weighs the same. Like does every 16" bicep (assuming they are of equal length) weight the same?

That's an interesting point. I would most def think that one persons muscle density would be different from that of anothers. So I would say no. Therefore this 10 pd rule would require everything being equal.

that might be related to the calculation for ideal body weight

50 + 2.3 kg x every inch above 5 feet = ideal body weight (for men)

45.5 + 2.3 kg x every inch above 5 feet = ideal body weight (for women)

    2.3 kg ~ 5 lb
