    Anyone own a DLP TV?

Were looking to get a new TV this week and it's probably gonna be a DLP TV. Can't decide though between the LG, RCA or Samsung versions.

Anyone on here have a DLP TV? And if so what do you think? They're pretty pricey when you get into the larger screen sizes so wanna make sure it's worth the money. I also like the Sony, rear projection LCD TV but Dally's pretty set on the DLP display.

    Any thoughts?

From what I've heard, prices on all TV's are gonna drop significantly around Xmas time, so if you can wait, you just might save enough $$$ to finance your next cycle.

I used to make the DLP chips, where I used to work. Complex little boogers, just about the first production IC chips with moving parts. They're the future for movie theaters . . . it's lots cheaper to send a movie by satellite to theaters than to ship big boxes of 35mm film rolls. More secure, too. Never get scratches on the film, either, or breaks, or whatever. And it's lots cheaper to make films with digital cameras; no expensive film or film processing; do all the editing on a pc, diddle with color, special effects, etc. Lots cheaper. The future of movie making. Most likely will get to the point where small groups can produce major-studio quality movies, which will change the economics of the industry. And all because of a little digital chip.

They don't have a CRT, so they're much lighter than others. Less than 100 lbs.
