Here in Quebec, every public place must allow you to use restrooms, if they refuse to do so they can fine with great penalties.
That manager was an asshole, boycott Old navy!

For those of you who do not understand the sense of urgency that accompanies an attack from Crohn's, I can assure you it is about as urgent of an issue as you can imagine..Once it hits, you're in serious trouble if a restroom is not relatively close..
As an example: My sister, who among many other physical ailments, also suffers from Crohn's disease..A few years back I took her and her 3 kids to an amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio for the day..There was a brand new rollercoaster that had opened and we stood in line for nearly 4 hours to ride the **** thing..5 minutes before we were to get on she had an attack..It came on immediatley and she didn't make it ten feet out of the line before she soiled herself..You can only imagine the humiliation she felt..Having NO control over her bowels..It's not something that can be controlled, even through the use of medications it is very unpredictable..
Case in point..If that were my sister or daughter, someone would have been on the receiving end of a severe amount of pain..A trip to jail and a fine for beating that manager within an inch of his life would have been well worth it..You could call it a lesson in humanity and compassion..

That is not right. This girl had a medical condition and they denied her to use the bathroom. People make me sick. I hope the people at old navy feel like assholes.

SC..That's not a flame..He just needs to stop and think about what he says a little more carefully..This condition is VERY serious and often leads to complications that are overwhelming..

To me it doesn't matter if the girl had Crohn's or not........... It's just a restroom and everyone has been faced with that feeling of urgency at lest a few times in thier lives.......... all he had to do is be a decent human being for once in his life and let the girl use it.

Guess i kind of started all this...
Was the manager wrong in his "Managerial Decission" = yes
Is he a decent human being = don't know..
Did the woman do something to piss him off to cause him to make that decission = we don't know..
I assume that if the mother made the comment "you have to let her use your restroom, it says so here in the doc's note" he was being stuborn and hateful..
There just seems to be alot left out of the story.. that's what i was saying..
And DocM......... great to see ya around again...............The answer to your every question

Look at your response above and tell me how it doesn't sound insensitive. And what grown person would want to wear a diaper? The humility of the condition is enough, let alone wearing a diaper. And calling a vet of this site a f*ck face is not a good idea if you wish to stick around.

Heres a letter that a female mod on IBB is sending...
My letter:
The issue I'm writing about has to do with the following:
Shopping Turns Nightmarish with No Bathroom Access
http://www.nbc5.com/health/3663327/detail.html
I am APPALLED at the actions of this so called store manager of that Old Navy Store! I'm angered actually! He was not fired???? Is that the kind of person your corporation chooses to run your stores? Pathetic.
I will NOT be purchasing from any Old Navy store as I have always done in the past. Until this mother and child has recieved a public appology FROM THAT STORE MANAGER, I will never again shop at Old Navy and give my patronage to a store that has NO compassion for others with medical conditions.
I see you have upgraded your "policy" regarding bathroom privledges, but I'm sorry, that is NOT enough. A public apology from that heartless manager is cruicial and needed.
I hope your corporation has the nerve to do what is right.
*. *******

Sales shall fall, and so to should the store manager.

You know, she knew she was not going to be able to hold it in and it was coming out in her pants any way. Knew it was going to be embarrassing either way... IF it was me, I WOULD have dropped trou and right where I was standing. That's better than flipping him off, better than cussing him out, better than beating his a$$, ('cause if I was Ally, I'd be a lil' girl).
I also liked the one of the mom picking up some poop and throwing it at the heartless manager.

agree 100% BUT how did the mother approach the manager? i can't imagine any person in retail that after seeing a medical condition card would still refuse to let the girl use the bathroom.....it leads me to think the mother either threatned the manager or was just very crude when asking that made the manager refuse her....i still think he should have his ass beat....weather the mother was rude or not you shouldn't make another human suffer like that....
