I just got tired of it and quit. My wife and I have been gradually cutting back during the week until we were only smoking like 2-3 cigs a day, all in the evening. But on the weekend when we party, we smoke like hell. After continually seeing stacks of empty cig packs in the basement at the end of a partying weekend, thinking about my kids, seeing them grow up, etc...I said fuk it and quit. It only takes 24-48 hours to get past the nic withdrawals, it's all breaking habit after that.

congrats...i know what your talking about cutting down and then when the partying starts you start chaining. Its such a bitch, once i have a beer in me i fiend for a cig even though it will be 4 or 5 days prior when i last smoked one.

Yeah, there were stacks of packs in the basement because I have a rec room in the basement...pool table, foosball, bar, etc...so we all chill in the basement most all night when our friends come over.

I do feel hella better. It's not like I am a long time non-smoker yet, but I already see people smoking and think it's nasty, it stinks, etc. But hell, I thought that when I smoked...lol
