Tetnis Shot in shoulder
On saturday i was working and a rusty nail went through the webbing of my hand and the nurse gave me a shot in the shoulder.... she said it was intramuscular but i think it was only a 1/2 in pin.... The shot was great it was painless

might've been a 5/8 pin...if you're asking if that's big enough to be IM, it is...
sorry to hear about the rusty nail though...i'm sure that was fun.

I give tetnus 3 or 4 times a week in the ER. I use a 25 5/5" pin. It's much more comfortable for the patient and since the general population doesn't have deltoid mass there's less chance of hitting bone by going too deep. Yes I have hit bone more times than I can count.
