    Unhappy Question about footwear

Hey Everyone, I was not sure where else to post this, but I wondered if anyone can recommend a good training shoe? I need a strong arch support and do not have much experience with "performance" shoes. I have been recently diagnosed with mild Plantar Fascaitis . I need the shoe for bodybuilding training. Any advice would be great...especially some suggestions of models / makes to take a look at...

    Thanks all,

    J

I wear Nike Shox, the same as the ones in the picture. They are mega comfy, and look pretty good!

To tell you the truth, when you are lifting legs you should really use flat soled shoes. Elite fitness has a discussion on this. I train in chuck taylors, but addidas copas or old school pumas work too. If anything you could buy and arch support and put it in the shoe. It's better for your knees when you squat, deadlift, etc. I wear regular running shoes on arm days. If you want more specifics about the benefits of flat shoes I can get the info for you.

Thanks. I wondered about that. I actually find flat shoes very comfortable, but the Plantar Facsaitis is killing me. I will likely use the flat shoes for leg day and the more "athletic support" shoes for all my other training and casual wear. Currently I wear my flat shoes all the time (except at work).

I think that would be a good idea. I have really high arches, so the flat shoes are tough for me. I only wear them to lift. Any other day or with cardio I use running shoes or cross trainers and add my insoles from the doctor for support. I find that if I keep the flats to a minimum it really helps.

Hot ... and comfortable. Hey, it's all about the workout not the "look." I'm sure I look retarded in shorts and high top chucks, but I'm getting in a good pump so who cares.

BROOKS are the best shoes available. They are very light and come in different shapes for people with different widths of feet and arch. They are a bit expensive but well worth the money.
