Man, I'm afraid to see it. I need to stop dwelling on how much fun high school was anyway. ****ed real world.

I still like "The Program" a lot to though. To this day that is still one of my picks for football movies.

I read the book back in '92. Friday Night Lights is just the tip of the iceberg in reference to the craziness of Texas High School football, especially West Texas HS football(no disrespect to any West Texans). Football was, and still is, a religion here. But out West, it was even bigger/crazier. They placed SOOOO much emphasis on winning, it was almost sickening. :spudniklu

I just saw it last night and loved it. I could never know what it's like to be on the line, but as a college athlete I thought they did a great job emphasizing the pressures of atheletics vs school/scholarships and injuries in high school. My boyfriend liked it as well and he played college ball. Definitely not your hollywood/varsity blues flick, and worth seeing for the film style too. Maybe it's the hormones, but I was almost in tears ...almost at certain points of the movie. Don't bring a chick if she's not into sports because she definitley won't get it. I'd love to see De LaSalle (california) play one of those teams.
