Theory: Nearly all women have a bi curious/bi sexual side to some degree. Opinions?

Hope not to offend anyone with this thread..... I just wanted to get some opinions. It's been my theory that all or nearly all (95%+) women have at least thought about or wondered about experimenting with another woman.

Here are some of my points:

    - A woman is naturally more inclined to engage in SOME form of experimentation with another woman than a man is with another man. Basically, a straight woman will more likely engage in such activity than a straight man would with another man.

    - Seeing a woman display intimacy towards another woman (be it sexual or otherwise) is more socially acceptable than seeing two guys do the same.

    - ALL of the females I have talked to this about have admitted to being bi-curious to SOME degree. (The age group for these females: 18-24)

    - Under the influence of alcohol women are usually more open about their sexuality. People are more bound to express themselves honestly when they are under the influence. Most of the girls I've talked to have admitted to engaging in some form of sexuality towards another female, but just because "they were drunk".... I don't believe the same logic/reasoning could be acceptable if it came to two guys.

    - The female body is admittedly regarded as "more beautiful" than the male body. It seems both men and women appreciate the female form more.
I once had a gf who admitted to me that although she was no bi-sexual or even bi-curious... she enjoyed watching lesbian porn because it "turned her on". Even though she said she could not fathom the thought of actually engaging in these activities, the visuals themselves got her going.

SO.... what are your opinions on this.... I'd like to get some input from the LADIES on this one too....

I think that as a rule, women are not nearly as homophobic as men, so this lends to our feelings that they might lean the other direction. Relationships between women are extremely different than the relationships between men, based on societal imposition.

I think these concepts lend themselves to a more homosexual friendly atmosphere for women than for men.

As to the issue of the bulk of females having homosexual tendencies or curiosity...I doubt it, but I would certainly say that, as a percentage, there would be a higher number of women who have experimented with homosexuality than men.

I think every human has perverse thoughts of every imaginable thing. Homosexual behavior is just one of many. People think about stabbing others with knives....shootings....etc etc. What it all comes down to is if you want to act on these kinds of thoughts. Once you've acted on and think about these kinds of things enough......you start thinking of them as "normal" behavior. If you have no standard to judge your actions by, then justification becomes quite easy.

The numbers are probably the same. As a percentage, there would be a higher number of women who will admit to have experimented with homosexuality than men.

I have to say that it's not something I think about, not have I ever had a desire to go there. Like MEN way too much. With that said, I had one experience with my ex-husband and our best friend.....and it did NOTHING for me.

    3. NO, PULLING out IS NOT a RELIABLE method of Birth Control. DAMMMMIT..... Wrap that shyte UP!!

Women over 30 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you, if they think they can get away with it.

For all those men who say, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free". Here's an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage, why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire Pig, just to get a little sausage.

IN today's society it is difficult for a man to be forthcoming about his homosexual or bisexual tendencies - yet if he we look in history's past to a time before christainity became widespread we'll see homosexuality of both genders almost everywhere .

Look at Japan for example - homosexuality was so prevelent there that it was prevalent the japanese didn't make a seperate word for homosexual sex and hetrosexual sex until they came in contact with westerners .

Homosexuality was also rampant in Turkey , Greece and somewhat in Rome . ( Rome is not as " gay " as people think , for example... look at Rome's last truly screwed up Emperor... Marcus Aurelius Antoninus ( aka Elagabalus, also the name of the sun-god of the Syrian city of Emesa ) was killed for his homosexual antics... the man tried to " contrive a woman's vagina in his anatomy " - and because " personal style seemed effeminate and inappropriate to his office . " .. also he posed as a woman and prostituted himself... )

So my overall opinion is this : Men cannot be Bi in today's society without facing unwanted ridicule , if a dude comes out and says he's bi chances are he'll be shunned , disowned , or he'll get his @$$ kicked by someone , whereas female bisexuality is embraced , if not encouraged by society .

Oh , a side note.... most " lesbians " of history's past... side Sapho ( I think thats how her name is spelt ) weren't lesbians . the greecian poet had a husband and children if I am not mistaken , and lesbians were expected to be good at preforming oral sex for men in Greek society .

Great post! Odd how the way sexuality is perceived in society has changed over the centuries.

Women are less homophobic and make less of a big deal about it, which is one factor. Homophobia sets in pretty early in boys. They emulate their big brothers and older kids when they ridicule abviously gay or effeminate kids and are using "queer" and "fag" as general purpose insults or taunts, even when they don't really apply. This puts a big damper on the natural experimentation that pre-adolescents engage in. Shame and guilt and fear of discovery are big factors. I read somewhere a paper that stated an interesting hypothesis... that kids who are more intelligent are more likely to engage in this experimentation in spite of the environment of homophobia. Intelligent boys are more likely to be individualistic, running parallel to, but outside, the herd. Girls, OTOH, often do not seek out opportunities for sexual experimentation of either sex until their mid teens. Also either sex is about as likely to experiment with same-sex activity, and abandon it after satisfying their curiousity or discovering heterosexual activity. It is a fallacy to assume that women are more bisexual than men. We simply repress it more, and we don't really miss it as long as we have an outlet with the fairer sex. Notice what happens when "straight" guys go to prison. They claim that they aren't queer, that the poor guy underneath them getting his puddin pounded is the queer, but the guy on top has to be aroused for the thing to happen at all. Think about it.

A lot of women are encouraged by their husbands or boyfriends to engage in girl/girl sex, and so some women who otherwise would not bother with that sort of thing, do the wild thing just to please their men. As a swinger I see that a lot. Many would not do it if they weren't encouraged by their men. Some would never have tried it but when they do, find that they enjoy it. OTOH women, aware of men's homophobic tendencies especially in public, seldom push men into having sex with other men. Men do not have this degree of empathy and usually are only wrapped up in their own fantasies, so it really doesn't matter to men whether their women are inclined that way or not... they want to see it happen, anyway.

Women are more nurturing and more likely to let compassion or kindness or sympathy manifest itself in embraces or caresses, especially with other women. This often leads to a sort of sex-but-not-really-sex activity. Men aren't as touchy-feely or as compassionate with other men. Adult men who are not bi or gay are very unlikely to let compassion manifest itself in physical intimacy. The backslapping bear hug between buddies is far removed from the softer embrace that women give each other. Straight men do almost all of their homosexual experimentation as kids and quickly put it behind them after their first piece of tail, for the most part. Women have fewer issues and are more likely to try it or continue it through adulthood, and less likely to react strongly against any suggestion of F/F intimacy.

The reason I think there are more lesbians is more due to the nature of the female brain. If there is no man around who can meet their emotional needs they will look elsewhere. Also, women who are in battered syndrome and abusive relationships have a tendecy to have the man basher attitude seeking another female as she will feel safe. In todays society there are more single mothers(& dads) where there is no male role model around during the girls upbringing. There is more to this subject then what is seen through ones eyes..

From what I witnessed over the weekend, when two hot chicks get a lil alkeehol in them mixed with a hot tub and they will make out with each other, walk around topless, bend over to the front & touch thier toes (with swimsuit bottoms in hand) and generaly do anything you want to themselves. Of course I cannot scientifically base a theorum on one incident and must conduct furthur research. Not using the same ladies as well other wise my results could become biased towards the first pair.
