Rebuilding muscle after surgery
Ok, this is something I was always wondering, figured I'd throw it out there and see what you guys have to say.
Years ago my dad had a rare form of cancer in his leg. The doctors wanted to take the whole leg off, but my dad said no way. So they removed his quadricept. Years later now and he is cancer free, but he walks with a cane.
My question is:
Lets assume the doctors took the quad and the surrounding tendons. Could doctors take muscle and tendons from his good leg and reattach it to his bad leg? I know doctors can reattach muscle but I never heard of doctors reattaching tendons to bone and then muscle to tendons.
