Edelbrock makes some good heads (as does TFS.... LB will vouch for them ).. (the E-Tec heads are just like vortecs, BUT flow a bit better, and with aluminum heads, you could get away with 91 octane fuel, with the same 10.4:1 CR)...
Personally, I would run a blower, or turbo, or a proper squeeze setup.... but if #s matching really matters, then I would go stroker.... no one would ever know you had a big crank.... and the added cubes will get you some torque...
Lighten your car, get a proper tranny-rearend setup, play with your pinion angle (-5 deg. sounds good )... get some tires.... there is no reason you can't run 12sLast edited by Blown_SC; 10-28-2004 at 10:43 PM.

My blazer goes 12s w/ Stage III vortec heads and a nice big turbo shoving 13 pounds of boost down it's throat lol.

Nope lol......... the only suspension mods I have done are just cosmetic not even racing wise. In the front I have a 1 inch drop spring w/ stiffer shocks, and the back I have a 2 inch lowering block. All I did was slap on some stickies, tune the **** outa it and make a few passes and finally got it dialed in where I wanted it. But I don't really race it anymore, it is too easy to break honestly. I just drive it as much as possible now and enjoy all the other nice **** I did to it. Here I'll post some more pics and some specs on it since I think you missed the other thread where I put up all the info on it

Well bitches...
What do you think about:
331ci, TFS Twisted Wedge heads, Comp valvetrain, and a Vortech centrif?

Since those pics I got rid of the dumbo mirrors on the blazer and paint matched a few items.
The Syclone **** near breaks your neck if you launch with enough boost lol. yea I love the ZO6 Replica rims. That is my favorite part of the truck

I really don't like Vortech.....Procharger's make more power and every kit comes with an intercooler setup and the head units are actually made to blow through them.
A turbo kit on a vette is definitely too complex as there is very little room to work with. A procharger kit would be plenty along with some minor work on the internals he could be in the 12's easily on low boost #'s

Oh and a properly sized turbo will produce ZERO lag. I promise you that...... my blazer has no turbo lag, it spools to full boost @ 23-2400 RMPs. You can't beat the torque or constant boost numbers a turbo produces. With a centrifigural blower when you shift you lose half your boost in between shifts. With the turbo it stays in full boost constantly even through shifts.
I used to have a procharger kit on my blazer before the turbo. Then I blew up the motor and decided to go with a turbo instead So I know how both world's work and I prefer to the turbo any dayLast edited by LeanMeOut; 10-28-2004 at 11:42 PM.

Procharger has horrible customer service though...
And up here, that's what you need...
Vortech has always been a good brand for my boys....
I often consider goin old school and slappin on a Weiand, KenneBell, or other type of roots blower, cutting the hood, and showing off
