As I said in the other thread this literally breaks my heart, I didnt even know the guy but it gets to me. Very sad to see his posts from 2004 and now know that he has been killed defending what he thought was right. Very admirable. I agree on the cust. title. If you can find his name and rank it would be great to put that and RIP under his screen name. I will never forget him now.

This is true, but it usually depends on the cause of death etc. If he was shot I think it would be released immediately because they know he is gone. It sometimes takes months if they are not found or assigned the MIA tag and only "assumed" dead. If the person was buried under a collapsed building etc it can take some time. But I think if he was shot it would not take long for confirmation.
