Can't they freeze all the posts, then delete some threads? Does more bandwidth cause this site more money?

Its been suggested countless times! Your assuming of course that the Mods/Admins have endless amounts of time to go through the 125,000 odd threads there are...

Well maybe they can have a compitition with the modes, who ever deletes the most useless old threads, get's to mod a new section of their choice. It would add more interest than old threads that will never be look at, that are taking up space.

1st off.. it will not save band width...

it would make searchs faster, if less data were kept..

but how would you like to be one of the "mods" that had to sort through the info.. and make that dicission?? too time consuming..

Mirrored servers, and oracle rather than sql would make the site scream with speed.. but that all takes money..

    got any??

spywizard, good post cause I did not realize that's how it works. My searches get through fast enough since I have a great connection. I'm not sure but I think Bouncer would be more than happy to take on a challege like this when he get's his new computer. However, from what you have stated it does not sound like much use.
