Guys in the Strong Man Competition are NOT Athletes

Yeah so I argued with this wide receiver on my team for an hour about the guys in The strong men comps. This dumb ass says they aren't athletes and have no cardiovascular endurance. He also says that they have no coordination and only lift weights and never run or bike, he also says they don't have any endurance at all, "all they have is strength". Does anyone have a link to a work out for these guys so I can shut this idiot up.

I think pulling a bus or jet plane would take quite a bit of endurance

this guy must be an idiot. I mean its not just lifting the weights and dropping them in most of the events. They have to pic them up, and take them over to another area, or race while pulling them.

    Idiot
    Alex

PS: I hope you set him strait

I would think carrying 2 - 450 pound refrigerators (900 pounds) for 100 or 200 yards would qualify for both strength and endurance. And, he doesn't think their athletes what would that make a bodybuilder or a powerlifter (a powder puff). It sounds like your buddy needs to reduce his dosage.

Saw a sample of Marius Pudzianowski's routine once. The guys lifts, trains events, boxes, and swims, among other things.

I had a similar argumen regarding those synchronized swimmers with my wife (I couldnt accept it as a sport). I have since come to accept there are all kinds of athletes from all kinds of sports from all walks of life.
