If you f*ck up the end of a day diet wise (Like you skip a couple of meals because of uncontrolable events in your life), will you lose all the work you did at the gym that day?

If you don't have raw materials/fuel to grow, you won't assimilate new muscle tissue.
So yes, it does interfere w/continuity of muscular gain and fitness progress.

Thx... I thought that too. I just had a lil' bit of hope that by going back to normal the next day it would still repair the muscle and make it bigger. Oh well.
