Why do people wear stocking caps in the gym?

I see a lot of this at my gym but never understood it. It's never cold in there, in fact I get **** hot during a workout. A sweatband makes sense but a stocking cap? I know some on here probably wear them so please tell me why. There must be some kind of benefit here that I'm not seeing

I wear it sometimes cause most of your body heat goes out of the top of ur head, makes for a good hot sweaty workout specially during cardio.

Because I saw it in an Animal Stack add and thought it would help me lift more! Not to mention when I'm trying to really focus I pull it down to were it almost covers my eyes and I don't have to see that 110 pound punk trying to lift 200 pounds from the floor with his back. hahahahaha

I've worn a sleeve before. For those of you white-non-wigger-suburbanites, that means a former sleeve from a t-shirt that you made sleeveless. A) Because I'm hardcore and no one will say **** to me, B) i don't like people so I get to avoid eye contact, and C) increases body heat and D)keeps my bald head clean from other people's greasy ass hair when I lay down on something. I haven't worn one in a while. I should start again, I'm so cool.

Oh yeah, someone was wondering about that dude in the Animal Stack ad.....if you look closely at the quad shot you'll notice they have 45's placed right behind him to make the outsweep seem even larger.....photo trick...not to say he doesn't have large quads just that they make it appear larger.

I agree, we have a guy that wears one down around his eyes. He is built good though so he is not a poser but it is funny nonetheless.

I wear on and I do seem to be able to lift more when i wear a lot of tight clothes and a hat. I heard that if you keep your head and core very warm that your body will pump blood out of those area's to prevent over heading and this would mean 2 good things, More blood in the muscles, and less blood pressure in the head and internal organ's.
