I just got this forward to me. Pretty alarming if you ask me!

I just received this from a friend. I entered my phone number and clicked on "search". WOW!!! If your phone number is listed, anyone, can literally pull up a map to your house, and get a lot of other private data on you, including the name of your spouse!!!
With this new invasion to our privacy, anyone can get a whole lot of information. Check it out If your information does come up, you can block it, by following instructions. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I will be contacting "Google" with a VERY STRONG protest, and follow it up.

Google has implemented a new feature wherein you can type someone's
telephone number into the search bar and hit enter and then you will
be given a map to their house as well. Everyone should be aware of
this!
Note that you can have your phone number removed or blocked. Before
forwarding this, I tested it by typing my telephone number in
google.com. My phone number came up, and when I clicked on the
MapQuest link, it actually mapped out where I live. Quite scary.
Please look up your own number. Read below for details. Think about
it--if a child, or ANYONE gives out his/her phone number, someone can
actually now look it up to find out where he/she lives. The safety
issues are obvious, and alarming. In order to test whether your phone
number is mapped, go to: http://www.google.com/ Type your phone
number in the search bar (i.e. 555-555-1212) and hit enter. If you
want to BLOCK Google from divulging your private information, simply
click on the Phonebook Results link above your phone number and click
on the Phone Book Removal Form. Removal takes
48-hours. If you are unlisted in the phone book, you might not be in
there, but it is a good idea just to check. If your number does come
up if you hit mapquest, it will show you a direct map to your house...

It is public info, you have your number listed next to your name with an address in the phone book, how does this suprise you?

Probably not much. But, it just shows what you can find out with just a phone number. Atleast with the whitepages you need first and last name. Then there could be more then one person with that name.....That would be a little harder to narrow down the person your looking for....With a phone number there's no problem finding exactly who your looking for...

http://publicdata.com You can find out everything about a person (their home, how many registered live there, floor plans, directions...)All you need is a name, ssn, or licence plate number to run. creepy stuff, just think, the next person you piss off in traffic has the potential to find out where you live

Yea, um, this has been around forever.

Whitepages reverse lookup, etc.

Public information. Hell, i could go to the court house and get the plans for your house OG, theres a ton of public info out there.
