Install anything new recently?
yeah Norton GoBack, antivirus software, and windows xp 2 service pack or whatever it is
XP Service pack 2 slowed my PC down by 30% or more...
That's probably the problem... I went back and uninstalled that
crap and it was back to normal... Just made more problems then it
was worth even if it does make security updates that are worth it...
boot into single user mode ,
run ad-aware , spybot and norton.
try that 1st .
Spyware doctor works MUCH better than Spybot.
Nortons is pretty awfull also and sucks up system resorces.
I'd use AVG, might want to run trend housecalls online virus scanner.
Use Spyware doctor in safe mode, chances are your infected with hella spyware.
Your best bet would be to reformat and start with a clean install.
I personally hate norton, as J-Dogg said AVG is a good anti virus prog and its free.Quote:

I had the same problem lately. So I burned everything I had (that I still wanted) on my hard drive, then completely cleaned the hard drive and reinstalled windows. It completely fixed the problem. I think it was most likely spyware.
