    Anyone Own a 2005 R1??? Or CBR1000RR???

    Does anyone own a 05 R1/CBR1000RR???

    If so what do you like about either bike, i've been doing so much read up on em. You cant buy a bad liter bike these days... Im leaning twards the Yammy...

    The Hondas More expensive (300$) and 396lbs!!!

    Any thoughts???

    Im coming off of a 02 Gixxer 750.......w/ plenty of saddle time.

    Why not get the GSXR1000, it is a better bike than both you have listed?

    If I had to choose out the two you have listed, it would be no contest. I would get the R1 ANY day over the CBR100 and the R1 looks so fukin nice.

    Id have to say get the GSXR1000 its such a beautiful bike!!! I was in the shop the other day, hands down id be getting that, then the R1.. But I have to wait till Im done school

    would also go with the r1 out of those but how about the new zx10??? i have just bought the zx636r and its quite nice but the 05 models are having alot of problems ive heard

    Ya Kawi's DEFINATLY come a long way especially with their R&D. I've never been a kawi fan.The Hondas Suspension makes sense, but in turn I dont want my bike thinking for me as far as the computerized dampner is concerned, besides is weighs like 396 lbs. Everyones sayin that if you want a sport-touring liter bike that looks like a sport bike, get the CBR, lol. I think the only thing that I like about the Honda is the rear tail fairing.

    Hands Down to the R1.....

    I think the 05 GIXXER 1000 exhaust looks gay as FVK, blinkers in the sideviews??? comeon this isnt a escalade touring bike, thumbs down to suzukis looks in some aspects, but thumbs up to the insane power!

    my opinion is probably a bit biased since i own an r1... both are quality bikes i just think the yamaha has had a bit more time in perfecting the r1... and i think the r1 has the best quality engine... i have a 99 that runs like it is still new... i am running a full akropovic titanium exhuast, ivan's jet kit, k&n with a modded airbox... other than that all i've done is change oil and tires... you will at least have to go and sit on both bikes if you can't ride both for a comparison... i say R1... good luck shopping!

    I think no matter which one you pick, you'll be happy. They're all nasty!! The R1 is one bad ass looking bike. The Kawi is in competition. Too many people are riding Suzukis, I wouldn't get one. But I've always been a Honda man, since my first dirt bike, they've all been Hondas.

    If I were you it'd be the R1.

    i agree the HUGE tailpipe on the gixer looks poo, defo the new zx10 is up there in competition now

    had an 02' R1 and loved it...however if I were to get another rice it would be a GSXR 750...plenty of power, great handling, and very easy to wheelie

    but I'm starting to feel my age, so the Harley's are looking real good
