    Anybody ever eat deer meat

ok well i dont know how many of you hunt and or have the oppertunity to eat venison but that stuff is great. So my question is do any of yall ever eat deer meat. I think it has the same protein content as beef and is a little leaner. High in cholesterol though i think. Here in The Great State of Texas deer hunting is great and deer meat is even better. JMO

I live up on Michigan and just about everyone around hunts. It’s really good, it can be tuff but most of it but the tender parts are turned into burger or sausage.

yeah today im whoring the post up there usually im not that bad though. but going back to the deer meat topic.

dont yall love the stuff. It has that great wild game taste to it. and yeah the deer are bigger in canada there beasts up there. Like 200lbs more than ours but venison is venison.

But yeah i have a whole freezer full of it. Deer hunting is my passion. I get mine processed at this place that like top quality. Never let a deer touch the ground, all clean stainless steel plant, vacuum sealed, tenderized its like the greatest thing you'll have ever eatin

got a lot in this post so i wont have to whore so bad

yeah get it tenderized its so much better. Back strap is the ultimate best besides loin. Ive prolly shot about 40 with a rifle, have 3 on the wall including a 15 point that scored 170.

Bro the taste all depends on the handling & processing of the meat. A lot of idiots out there kill a deer then strap it to the hood of their car & drive it around to all of their friiends house showing it off for a couple of hours. All the while the meat is getting stiff & warm. Elk & antelope meat a pretty godd as well.

deer meat is great, i dont even take it to a processor, its very easy to cut and make jerkey or steaks or whatever you want. Saves alot of money. If i want sausage i will take it to a processor.

I love it!!! Havent been hunting in a few seasons but my last kill was over the summer. I was driving home from my job at six in the morning and this doe cut right in front of my van. I hit and killed her and loaded her up in the van and when I got home me my brother and a buddy of hours dressed her up and we had meat in the freezer for a couple of weeks. The only problem we had was the ticks that b*tch had all over her since it was the summer and all. We were picking those little bastards off of ourselves all day.

venison is one of my favorites!!! I like to cook it on the stove after I season it with coarse black pepper, crushed red pepper, and some garlic salt. I also have a freezer full of venison sausage and ground venison that I make meat loaf and hamburgers out of. mmmmmmmmmm venison!!!

Cheapest way for my to get my whole food protein.... go through a good 4 deer a year... thats about 40$ right there for the cost of a license to kill those 4 deer.... Our family dresses out the deer ourselves, because we are picky how its processed and packaged....

Butcher it yourself. It's not hard. You can probably figure it out just by doing it, or you get someone to help you who is experienced at it. Cook the backstrap and tenderloin by grilling to medium or so... never overcook. Some other cuts can be marinated and grilled with good results, but most of it, because it is a bit lean and tough, is best used in stews or sausage. Liver-lovers should eat the liver in the field rather than waiting to get it home. Just stick-grill it over an open fire, mesquite if you are in TX. Hickory elsewhere if you can find it... NEVER pine or other softwood. I don't care for liver but those who do like it a lot better absolutely fresh than after hauling the carcass to the road, carrying it in the back of the truck for the distance, and sitting while you butcher the rest of the deer.

Love Venison!!! Best I ever had was marinated in Phillipino BBQ Sauce (kind of Terriyaki-ish) for 2 days and I ate soooooo F*N much...I haven't had it as good since.

Although when I was in Austria Last year I ate 4 times in 4 days...it was on the menu! KICK A$$!!
