Broke guys foot at gym this weekend...
Leg day yesterday....So I set up to do some squats in the power rack....I'm working my way up to the weight for my first set and I have 14 plates on the bar.....
I'm not sure what happened but this guy tries to walk by outside the rack to grab a weight and hits the end of my barbell with his shoulder.....sooo, instead of trying to save the bar I bail on it. Roll it right off my shoulders and let it fall to the floor......following the loud crash I hear this scream that I may never hear again. Turns out the barbell fell on the guys foot......They carried him out and brought him to the hospital.....
Now I'm pissed because I had to clear off the bar to start over again....

Last year I was training with a buddy and he dislocated his shoulder on the military press...I was trying to tell him he's ok so I could finish my workout...Had to take his azz to emergency though..I went back and finished after. Its no 14 plates on the foot though!

He was breaking one of the unwritten rules of gym courtesy... He could have messed up your set and then takin the ass beating. Maybe he got off light.

that guys an idiot, how could he not see you were squating fricken 14 plates. i proceed with caution around someone fricken squating the bar. guy diserved it for not being alert in the gym. thats just my opinion.

Well thank God you didn't step on it....he'd really be ****ed then.
Rule Number One: stay the **** away from people while they are doing squats and deads....unless you're a spotter, of course.
Send him some nice flowers D......pressed ones. hahahahaha

Foot pudding! People should stay the hell away from anybody actually lifting real weights, ALWAYS waiting for the end of the set to approach or pass by the lifter. I think he knows that, now. I bet he keeps his wheelchair well clear of you!

That why idiots shouldn't be trying to squeeze in a grab weights while you are in the middle of your lift. Happens to me a lot cause the gym is crowded nd it pisses me off.

well, at least he comes close to the power rack - no one ever actually uses the one in my gym except something other than squats

Sucks to be him. I never understood why people get anywhere near someone lifing heavy, explosive, or both. When I do power cleans and dumbell snatches, I'm always amazed how close people will come to a fast moving, heavy iron object of which they have no control over.
