Will it ever go away...
My Gout that is..
Seriously, its five weeks now. I'm on a stick too, I'm also on morphine and sleeping tablets too. Which are killing me, I haven't trained in 5 weeks either. I can't eat anything high in protein (it cause's uric acid = Gout). I'm trying to keep my carbs low because I'm not active, plus I've to drink at least 8 litres of water per day. I can not drive my car, or ride my bike. Playing with the kids is right out of the question. If I was a horse I'd be taken out to a field and shot!..
Rant over..
No, the meds are affecting my eye sight.

I've heard it is very painful, sorry your going thru it. Somtimes when we get sick for a long time we forget what it felt like to feel "normal".

that's a bad situation all around. How long does the gout usually last? I think I remember you saying in another thread that it was chronic with you and came and went. I had morphine a few times before and that stuff works miracles, but too much and you'll need a miracle to get off it. Good luck bro, I wish you the best.

no booze, lose all food that contains purine, and no aspirin or diretics... if you can bro still try and exercise regularly
heres some supps that might help:
Quercetin — 200 to 400 mg ED between meals. Quercetin inhibits uric acid production.
Bromelain - 200 to 400 mg ED between meals. Take with quercetin
Vitamin E - 400 IUs ED
Flaxseed oil - 1 tbs ED
you probably know this already.... best of luck

Aren't you taking an NSAID like motrin, naprosyn, indocin? Please tell me they didn't put you on allopurinol.

Best way to describe the pain in my right foot is that its on fire with a crushing feeling. Its totally red, swollen, hot and smooth.

I use to have a neighbor that would have that same shiat when he ate seafood. Would cripple him for days, sometimes even a week. He wasn't a puss either...and that stuff would **** near kill him. Good luck with it bro...

It may be time for some corticosteroids. Putting you on allopurinol before controlling the flare was a BIG mistake.

Ok here's my next move..
Think I'll walk into a McDonalds and shoot some people, stress relief!.
Or
Since I have a pretty powerfull scope on my rifle I could sit it out in a clock tower somewhere and snipe at people. I'll just shoot people in the foot and see how funny they think it is.
Today is another terrible day living with Gout, with still no end in sight.
My world now rotates around 'bed to computer to bed to toilet/shower to computer to bed.'
I need to kill something, or seriously hurt someone's foot.

I read obesity and alcohol can cause gout, maybe you should stop drinking and move your ass more?
Hope it ends soon.
