    More appropriate forum

    Hey guys,

    Sorry to bother everyone I just need to vent. I work on night shift at the Brititsh Petroleum refinery tin Texas City, TX.
    Have any of you guys seen the news?


    I got a call today about 2:00pm they said there was an explosion at our complex. They were trying to get a head count of everyone at the facility. After a couple of hours, I foundout that three of the five guys who do MY JOB on day shift were unacounted for after a massive explosion at work.

    I turned on the news only to discover that rescue crews were digging thru rubble where my office once stood.

    The death count as of now is only at four. However there are more thatn 35 employees of various companies that are not accounted for.

    What is crazy, is that I was supposed to work day shift. However I was recently promoted to night shift supervisor. If not for this promotion I would be missing / presumed dead as the others are now.

    Right now I'm sitting alone in my hotel room awaiting more news. Sorry to whine or lay all this heavy **** on everybody, I just needed to vent.

    Thanks guys,

    I just got off the phone with the wife of my counterpart on dayshift. They have just spoken with the plant manager of the facility. He is still missing along with my two other co-workers. She is understandabley very shaken up. No word on his whereabouts as of yet. Earlier I spoke to another guy I know on day shift. He overheard the rescue workers sifting thru the rubble say things like " this one is dead, concentrate on finding survivors."

    Once again sorry to lay this on everybody. It's just not something I can discuss with my girlfriend. She worries enough about me while I am at work.

    I just got a call from the Public Relations person at BP. The death toll has risen to fourteen. No word yet on identification of those fourteen people.

    I have realized that since i have moved this thread to the lounge, I am the onl one to have addresed it. I sincelry hope tha no one believes that this is some kind of hoax. I have also seen that MANY people have read this thread & not responded.

    I GUESS IF I WANT A THREAD THAT WILL BE RESPONDED TO I SHOULD WROTE A THREAD ON HOW I BELIEVE ANOTHER MEMBER HAS HOMOSEXUAL TENDENCIES & HOW THEY SHOULD COMJE OUT OF THE CLOSET.

    Let me apoligize in advance to those whom have not previously read this thread or have not ever used any natural recources in their everday lives.
