I understand the concerns about used equipment. I put those in there because there are some who feel that audio equipment isn't manufactured the way it used to be. I think if you stick with your more reputable brands you should be fine. Irregardless of what you choose to buy just do some homework first. If you have any questions about any equipment shoot me a PM. Mark

it depends on what kind of setup you are going for. class d amps are nice because of the efficency. mtx amps are always a good choice. my personal favorite would have to be either arc audio amps or mmats for larger sub systems. arc amps can be a little spendy sometimes though.

I agree with you about the class D amplifiers being nice for their efficency. Though, the limiting factor with them (in my experience) has been their lack of high frequency fidelity and rather high distortion levels. These factors are why Class D amps are primarily used for subwoofer systems. I gotta go with you on the ARC and MMATS stuff. Mark

class d definetely would not be a wise choice for higher frequency's. never tried them out above 100hz but i can imagine what it would sound like.

very nice subs. i put a couple of the 12's in my friends car with 1000 watt eclipse amp and it suprised the hell out of me. definetely changed my mind about those subs. didn't like them before. i'd get them but i have other subs in mind for my large project.

Are you talking the old school "S Series" or the newer "L5" or "L7"? Mark

Many audiophiles believe that the old Solobaric series (which if I remember began production around 1992ish) are superior to the current ones in sound quality. Personally I like the older ones better, they sounded pretty good in the ones I heard. Mark
