    This can turn uggly

Just read a article in a swedish newspaper about the new outbreak of the Marburg virus in africa now. Its in angola has killed around 140 people so far and the deadliness of the disease is now 98%!!! Also it has probably reached the capital of angola with 2,2 million inhabitans.

Incubation time upp to 3 weeks so the mofo can spread alot also.

I hope they find a way to keep it down otherwise this could turn into a very nasty epedemic. Just imagine a couple of tourist here and there getting infected in angola and then returning and voila the **** is all over the world.

I wonder though if the guy that wrote the article got the facts wrong because if I remember right marburg should only kill 30% of those that get infected, If it is indeed 98% then its even worse then ebola zaire.

It is probably 98% communicable with a 30% mortality rate...which would make it incredibly dangerous! That means it could wipe out 29.4% of the people who come in contact with it.

ouch just read that it has infact killed 98% of the ones it has infected in angola. But most of them where childre under 5 years of age so I guess that explains the extrem mortality?

When I was a kid I was morbidly fascinated with ebola. I remember reading all about it. Especialy a book(cant remember name red zone or somthing like that) that was about the ebola reston that alot of monkys in washington got. The "what if it had spread to humans" question always pops into my mind. That would have been some scary **** for sure. Especialy since it was so easily airborn.
