Either generated in a 3d Program and/or Photoshop. Give me enough time and i could recreate that from scratch and probably make it look more realistic.

it is possible to connect monitors in that way though is it not? Same concept as those huge tv's which are really like 30 individual tv's but only show a fraction of the bigger picture?

Im not saying it's real I'd take messys word that it's not because I know nothing about 3d rendering etc but I think the idea is possible.

Certainly possible to construct something like that.

Its rendered, by the look, the lighting, textures and general feel you can tell it was made in a 3d program.

Ask the guy to stand in the photo with the monitors. I bet you comes up with some excuse.

    lol! That shut me up!

Im still a lil skeptical though, although seeing what type or forum you guys post on im kinda leaning towards the belief it may be real. The first two picture do look like renders to me, im still 50 50.

Looks like an old version of Reason running in the background on those monitors. It is very possible for an audio synthesizer and monitor to need that much desktop space.
