Smile Sweet! I landed my first gig!

Well, some of you may not know that I am a part-time voice actor for cartoons (which is a nice juxtaposition for my day job in the private security industry). Well, I have had some bit parts on a few shows like MegaMan NT Warrior and a Japanese show called Maison Ikkoku, but yesterday I landed a recurring role in a show being brought over from Japan and translated to English. This is potentially a huge gig and there is substantial money to be made...it almost makes up for my recent health traumas!

SplinterCell: On MegaMan NT, I am an incidentaly character that on the script has no name. He is a lab coat wearing guy with a bad haircut who says stuff like "the virus has broken through the firewall" and the like. To date, all my parts have been incidental. I have also lent my voice to a few of the evil "net navis" that Megaman has taken down.

vettewreck: You do not need college. I have always been pretty good at impressions and funny voices. A friend of mine is in the cartoon pre-production industry and suggested I try it out. So, after a failed first audition, I took a course at Vancouver Film School in Cartoon Voices. It is a lot of fun, but I am not sure right now if I could ever do it full time.

hahahaha. No, I do not think my episodes have been released yet...I am in season 3 and it is dated to air in Spring 2005....should be soon I guess. The new "doctor" guy is Hikari, I do not do his voice. I am literally a sideline character who sits a terminals and runs up and says things like "sir, the main CPU has crashed" and stuff like that.

Nothing wrong with being an uber-geek bro. Thanks everyone, I am pretty excited about this opportunity...voice acting is soo totally non-stressful and fun compared to my day job...if I could do it full time, I totally would. Oh, and the $100 per hour and 2 hour minimum call out is nice to....maybe I did not mention that. SWEEEEEEEET.

Remember it is not my day job...these bookings are still few and far between...I should get a better scope of what the potential for this one is this afternoon at the first recording session. Oh, and making $100 per hour...those sorority chicks might be coming out with me later...hahahahaha. Just kidding.
