What is one of dumbest training ideas or days you've ever had?
When I was a junior in high school I wanted to get those Strength Shoes real bad, you know those shoes that promise to add inches to your vertical and seconds off your 40. Anyways, I sent for them at the end of July. The shoes finally arrived the day before 2/day practices for my High School Football practices. You guys can see where this is headed. I was so anxious to use those shoes, so I took them down to the track and did one of the scripted beginner workouts with them. I thought I would just do half the workout, but ended up doing the whole **** thing. My legs were sore as **** the next day, and pretty much for the next two weeks, as we had 2/day practices for 2 weeks after that. To make matters worse, I was a running back so my legs never got any rest. I ended up using the shoes the next year in the offseason, but never before 2/days, wtf was I thinking, I was an idiot.

I used to push my dads truck around the yard like a sled with my brother steering and I also used to throw and grip cinder blocks as well. Just a few weird things I did for football when I first started playing.

3 hour bench press and bench row workouts almost everyday ontop of cycling 10 miles a day, rowing three times a week, running once-twice, karate twice a week, alot of binge drinking ontop of that can you say overtraining? Ah to be 15 again

Actually I trained under artillery fire and wouldn't bother to hit the bunkers.

what about that "add 1" to your arms in one day" workout from musclemag or wherever? pure poop.
there's also the old standby winny-only (drinken of course) cycle along w/ 5,000 sets for biceps, chest, and abs that every toolbox fratboy from age 18-22 does.

I had the bright idea to see how many times I could squat my bodyweight (85kg at the time).
I made it to 96 before I finally collapsed - I couldn't walk properlly for nearly 2 weeks....

I play a lot of softball and my stupidest training idea is that I can start training every winter and stop once softball starts (because I'm playing 7 games/week). Every winter I'm just fighting to get back to where I was.
