i saw it last night, I think it was one of the scariest movies I've seen in a long time. Probably because it was related to a true story.

I've yet to see a remake better than the original. I won't bother with it.

the posession was a fraud in the first place. The book is very good, but it is fiction nonetheless.

I saw it on friday night... It was the scariest movie that I have seen in a long time. I think it really freaked me out because thing just kept popping up. And after we saw the movie we went and sat in front of the house. It finished off the night. Even though new people live there now its still scary. And the house was burnt down but now that it is rebuilt it looks the exact same as it did in the movie.....SCARY!!!

The house they filmed for the movie is on 18 Brooks Road Toms River, NJ but It's been repainted, and has undergone a number of changes, mostly to stop people from taking pictures of it.

I definately gotta check it out sometime this week. I've been anticipating it since I first saw the previews back in Aug-Sept.

the actual house in amityville dont look like that....its actually a real nice house by the water. My best friend lives like a minute walk from that house and the people who live there are chill and havent seen any ghosts there in awhile.
