They aren't all skanky Barbi. I agree with you on the committment thing but they are definitely NOT all skanky and I have high standards. I'm happily, no very happily, married but when I was single I met some off of the net that were hot and had it together.

Testosterone doesn't ask for variety, it DEMANDS it. Why is it that the only way you register that a person loves you is to have a monopoly on their genetalia? Is it because you know they're SACRIFICING the one thing that all men want? Different women? I mean, I'm troubled in this dept. I LOVE a girl, but I'm conflicted with the fact that I want to have the option to be with other women... I hear that men are more capable of commitment (because their test levels drop at this age) after 38. Anyway, that wouldn't affect any of us here. Bottom line, people like validation from the opposite sex. Here's a post I put up on another site...

Yeah, this mistake has to get fixed soon. Girls always say that shit about how they fall for assholes... but the thing is, the guy they thought was an asshole is a total sweetheart, to a girl who he feels is the best he's capable of attracting. But for the unlucky lady who manages to latch on to the guy (remember, variety is a close runner up for men to quality) who deems her easily replaced gets acquainted with a brutal sentiment; ambivalence. This would all be fine, if girls recognized it for what it is... but they don't, largely due to the fact that their ego can't discern this simple rule (below) and write the guy off as an asshole to protect their ego, instead of ADJUSTING there sense of entitlement.

People assess how much they have to offer, and what they feel they can get for what they have to offer before establishing their standards. In practice, this makes for an equation as such, FOR MEN!

A x Q = S

A = Availability
Q = Quata
S = Standards

Wasn't there a day where women were more in tune with the fact that men see little incentive to COMMIT to a woman whose level of quality is easily replaced? I'm not saying this is the guiding light of ALL men, but isn't it something rather implicit of this superficial environment in Los Angeles? Let's be realists here, please.

With that in mind, women know exactly what they need to do to inspire a man's commitment response - SETTLE!

Exceptions to these RULES are ...

1. Specialists: A person who has preferences that rate higher in the list of competing priorities that include physical attraction (which by the way is a synonymous phrase of the CERTIFICATION OF BIOLOGICAL QUALITY!)

** I personally fall under the category of specialist, because I happen to be afflicted with an affinity for not only beauty, but also brains, which narrows my dating audience to around 1/10,000 it seems.

2. People with self esteem that ISN'T in line with society’s perception of them.

3. Other things, I'll think of them later.

For women though, your standards have to respect a rule that's likely to change little with time. There is a difference between who you can attract to **** you, and who you can attract to love you. Your job is to find that line. As a basic rule, look at your history... take out the pictures of the men who have dated you for MORE than 6 months, that's probably about the level of attractiveness you should be choosing from when seeking to satisfy a diet of longevity. If you're not happy with what you discover... self improve - it's the surest way to raise the dating bar.

Beauty is the resistance to disease, hardship, ability to reproduce, causes men to get higher rank in the military, causes greater advances in professional career, and so on.

Essentially, we all know who the most beautiful people are in society. And we instinctively know that not all of us are eligible to "have" them, hence, the settling.

Beauty is MAINLY objective... please don't argue with me. The rules are, symmetry, proportion, and sexual divergence ... i.e., the traits that diverge at puberty and make men men and women women.

Androgenous traits aren't historically prized. Time is the only true test. If it's not replicated, it's not successful. Ask any biologist.

And, you're right... it is a no-no, but the thing is... most people predicate their whole relationship off a negotiation of ... "I won't fu(k anyone else if you wont." Not a free offering, but a compromise. Thus, it's a sacrifice. And ultimately, time and unmet desires will rule most peoples decisions... not a "contract." Hey, I was sadder but wiser when I discovered this. And what's worse ... is that leaving someone for cheating on you doesn't really guarantee you've exchanged for an upgrade. You might be right back in the same boat... which sucks if that's how you base your perception of love... through monogamy, cause there's no reason to. It's just what we do to satisfy our ego (which is in denial) that "I" am who this person wants above all others." WRONG! I am just who she wants the majority of the time relative to her needs for security... for instance. Or many other variations. But anyway, these romanticized views held by so many of eternal love and all... but I knew very few people that are ever satisfied with their relationship for more than 5 years, and even that is stretching it.

What’s really fu(ked up is that this might not be a reflection of a global reality, but maybe southern California... perhaps this is a bit more shallow an area than the rest of the majority sees ... thus, I'm a product of my environment. :-o

My thoughts on cheating:
Some people, especially those who have been cheated on, are not going to like this. I have never cheated and can't imagine I ever will. It just isn't something I could do. Anyway, why is it that when someone is cheated on, they immediately blame the other person? Have you ever stopped and thought maybe it is my fault? If you get cheated on, then maybe you aren't giving your significant other what they need, whether that be physical or emotional. Now, if that isn't the case, then you still have to blame yourself for being such a poor judge of character! I get so tired of hearing people complain when everybody around them can see what an ass their boyfriend/girlfriend is. Girls like the adventurous bad boy and then can't figure out why they get cheated on. And guys like the sexy girl that flaunts her shit for all to see and wonder the same thing.
