    this is freaky as hell

    for broadband users
    http://www.tomlevymd.com/ironvideo/ironvidbb.zip

    for modem users
    http://www.tomlevymd.com/ironvideo/ironvid56K.zip

Basicly it shows how a brand of cornflakes has been enrichened(sp?)with iron fillings so they can claim on the package that it contains 100% of the rdi for iron. Nasty as hell, I wonder what else kind of crap they add to foods like that.

the clip is long(7 minutes) and dr levy is boring as hell but its still worth watching!

    Johan, thats not really new...

They add many minerals and vitamins to foods depending on whats missing in a regions diet. Where I live they add vitamin A to the milk as there is a deficiency in our diet. Out in the maritime provinces, it's calcium they add to the milk.

Iron particles in corn flakes is not that new, I remember as a kid we'd crush a bowl of corn flakes and root around with a magnet for little iron particles for 7th grade science class.

I believe they call that "fortifying" foods.

well I was never aware that they add non bioaviable(or even harmfull)forms of minerals/trace elements to meet the RDI levels. Just imagine what those iron fillings do to the body.

Adding minerals and vitamins I se nothing wrong with. But like I sad adding unabsorbable harmfull forms of the minerals is idiotic and that should be punishable

Just as they add hormones to meat.

    What can you do?

Nothing, just hope the hormones help you in some way/shape/form.

Iron can be both benificial or toxic depending on what form it is in.

the insect parts are just extra protein

Darn, is that why nowadays 12 year old girls are now built like 19 year olds? Just a few too many estradiol cattle implants in their McDonalds?
