$500-$1900 ro recover data on my hard drive...WTF

Good friggin lord! A data recovery agency quoted me $500-$1900 to recover the data on a hard drive that i messed up.

The disk isnt actually damaged, but rather the electronics..

christ..any of you know any decent priced services? I was thinking around $300

I tried doing that with a model that was 1 year newer. It ended up frying the new drive. I just sent that one back to newegg and claimed it arrived broken. Perhaps finding an EXACT model will work. I know the board numbers on the electronics were slightly different.

I wonder if swapping the actual discs inside the drive might work. I'd have to find a super clean place to do that id imagine.

those are normaly prices for data recovery. if the drive cant be hooked up as slave to copy the info over by hand then in most cases your screwed.
