I have the Sportster car reciever but its not portable besides to sit on a dock in the house. A friend of mine has this: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Delph...oductDetail.do

when reading about these things its so unclear
are they able to be used at the gym and places or do you have to have it docked in your car or at home?

I personally prefer the XM service myself. My wife has the following product. http://shopdelphi.com/products/consumers/myfi/ It can be used on the go, in the home, or in the car. It comes with all the stuff necessary to do what you want. You probably won't get a live signal in the gym, but there is an internal 5 hour memory that lets you save music and use it that way. I turn it on before bed and when I wake up, voila. Mark

Sirius will have a unit with the 5 hour memory come xmas time if you can wait. Don't forget Howard in 2006! (if you're into him)
