    Hmmmmm......

    I dont know if any of you guys will know this so this is probably one for the women.

    How long after a girl starts the pill will it become effective. I mean a day, a week, or what?

    From what I understand, it takes up to a month to completely kick in......

    I think it takes an entire "cycle" which I believe is 28 days. But I'm not totally sure.

    Cool No one rule on this . . .

    There is no one rule, since there are many different formulations of birth control pills. Some are taken daily, others are taken on a cycle (such as 21 days on, then seven days off).

    If you have the name of the specific birth control pill your girlfriend is taking, I'll be happy to check the prescribing literature for you.

    Until that time, be careful and take precautions - make sure you're ruled by your big head instead of your little one. And if we're talking about someone you met recently, remember that the pill does not prevent STD's or HIV transmission. Play it safe.
