I think cankles are inherited. I don't think it is an issue of body fat because my gf has very low bf and she still has cankles. It will be interesting to see what others say but those are my thoughts.

What are cankles exactly? I've heard of the condition before, but I have no idea what it actually is.

I've only ever seen this on the morbidly obese. I've never seen it on guys with 15%BF or gals at 25%BF. I wonder what SC's ankles looked like at 282lbs?

calves are genetic for the most part. you can pound away and not see much progress.

it may just be that you are predisopositioned to having more fat on your ankles... what is this low body fat you think you are at... you may need to go lower to see the fat leave that area of the body

He says their solid so i mean thats life, one of my boys i grew up with had them big time, but they werent fat he just had massive calves. If anything, its motivating tho, see he hasnt said anything i think hes doing calf raises right now.

make sure you can rule out pedal edema, could be fluid buildup due to faulty cardiovascular system. It'd be rare if you're under 40 unless your obese.

Arnold never had ankles until he put in 500 hours to build 'em up. In the begining he was ashamed of them and that's why a lot of his early shots are in water or above the knee. Be thankful that you have them. Just keep chisiling them out with diet/cardio. Do toes in and out exercises and go for striations.
