Me and Dally have an american pitbull terrier, she's the nicest, sweetest, most loving fun dog ever.

Just so happens we were looking at French Bulldogs on the internet yesterday cause we saw one we really liked. They're suppose to make great pets, low maintenance but lots of character. They also make great apartment dogs as they dont need a lot of excercise and dont do well in extreme weather (too hot/too cold). I like those little guys, it would be my first choice for a smaller dog.

Yea my girl loves them, and these golden dooldes which are a little to girly for me. But those french bull dogs look like they are a chill dog. Only downside for us is, most breeders are not from the NY area, so all you can do is look at pics. Kind of risky cause most of these dogs cost almost 2 g's, and you can't return it when you get it and it looks like rat..hope not..

Yeah, they're neat looking little fellas.....and not yappy from what I hear.
Would you ever consider a rescue? I noticed while looking on the net last night there was a few French Bulldog rescues. They would be very grateful to get a good home and it wouldnt be expensive. Our pit is a rescue and she's turned out to be awesome, I've owned 3 dogs before all from breeders but the rescue turned out to be the best one!

I will look into that, never thought of that. Thanx, I just assumed that the breeder dogs would be a healthier, better looking dog, but that is def. an option..

Catahoula Leopard Dog. Good working breed, very smart. Louisana state dog. Has a lot of the same attributes as a lab, water etc. The different colored eyes is part of the breed. Anyways, he's my buddy.

Check out http://www.akc.org/future_dog_owner/...ying_a_dog.cfm . . . it's got good advice on things to consider when choosing a dog.

If you want a purebreed dog, consider adopting one from a rescue organization instead of a puppy from a breeder. They're dogs that people decided they didn't want anymore, or couldn't take care of (such as when old folks end up in nursing homes and they can't take 'em along). Here's the website for info on them:

I don't understand why people like mean or ugly dogs. Cute dogs are the only way to go.

I have a male Amstaff and a female Lab/Pit mix. I rescued the Staffy from a kill shelter when he was 8 weeks old. The two are like my children. My next dog will def. be a French Mastiff or a Bordeux but I need a bigger house first.

Thats a common assumption but not the right one. Theres a lot of bad breeders out there, that dont do the proper health testing of the parents or the puppies, and also wouldnt hesitate to in-breed. So never assume that because it comes from a breeder, it's healthy.

Watch out particularly in the bully breeds like the Frenchie, because they are popular they are often subjected to a lot of bad breeding. My friends english bulldog just dies at 1 years old due to health problems, and it was supposedly a "show quality dog", they paid $2500 for it!

I'm glad you'll consider a rescue....trust me, they are so grateful when they get a good home that you will find you have the most loyal, loving awesome dog out there. And most rescues/humane societies will have already done health testing and spay/neutering as well so it will save you time and money.

I have an American bull dog she's 6 and im afraid i have to put her down. Every morning she wakes up in her own urine. She has warped all the floors in my house. Im sad.
I also have a pit bull that my son brought home from a bad breeder in PA. She is very mean, hates other dogs (to the point of wanting to kill them) if anyone walks through my front door without having us standing by their side she will bite. (I've never had a mean dog in my life.
My other dog was an Amstaff and she was a love. I bred and showed chineese Shar Pei for years but I don't recomend them.

A yellow Male Lab the best dog ever. When i walk him i ALWAYS get people stop and say how beautiful he is. I swear he knows english and male labs will never leave your side....slightly over protective of me that scares people but labs aren't mean dogs by nature

best dogs i've had are mutts. my mom has a border terrier mix that is a great, cute dog -- very funny, lots of personality. i had a black lab mix when i was growing up...sweet and loyal. and most recently i had a chow/husky mix -- very loyal, very obedient and just a good dog overall...but he started getting aggresive towards everyone but me...so we had to get rid of him (plus, i was moving cross country where i wouldn't be able to keep a dog)

I have had APBT's my whole life, love them! they are in my oppinon the best breed there is, yes Im biased, but who cares........my current dog is an APBT "Gretta" shes a brindle, and my kids have turned her into a big mush! great all around people dogs......sure they got a bad rap, but 95% of reported pit bull attacks on people, are not even pit bulls!
