    bought an amd sempron at sams club for like 450 with a monitor and all that shit, runs like a champ

    Sempron's are ok computers - but if gaming is your thing then go with an amd athlon 64 , preferably a 939 3200+ revision E ( Venice Core ) with a nice Asus motherboard. ( I went with the Asus SLI Deluxe mobo.. its stable and I won't have to upgrade it for awhile and I have the option of buying another videocard in an SLI configuration. )

    What kind of work will you be doing with it? Sempron is a lower end processor, kind of like a Celeron. If you're not doing anything really cpu intensive, it should do just fine. I actually prefer to spend more money on ram than cpu speed.

    You're good then, as long as you don't care about high end gaming or doing intensive CAD like programming. Get the cheaper processor and buy more ram!!!
