I have lived here for 9 years and love it! Although I must say the summers suck because it is too hot. I usually get out of the city for about 2 weekends every month -- which is key to living in the city. You need a break from it.

The higher pay usually makes up for the higher price of living. Take the subway, cabs suck.

How long are you in the city for? Where are you from originally?

I have had several people come to NY to visit me, and they absolutly loved it. They had been to NY before and thought it was the biggest dump in the world, but when someone who lives there takes you to the right places and shows you a good first class time you think different. I have hated city when traveling alone, and went back to visit people I met and had a blast. So it all depends on who you know, and what you do.. NYc is an amazing city bro..

bro just cause we use cars to get around as opposed to horses like ya''ll do, you can't put the whole city down. My advice it to take a taxi, not horse,, down to the Bronx Zoo, you will def. feel at home there with the monkeys...DAM rednecks just don't like to many people looking at there girfriend, i mean sister, ahh hell you know what I mean..

I recently visited new york on business, and took a day for just exploring. I thought ny was an amazing city with alot of cool stuff to check out, but NEVER would I want to live there for afore stated reasons. I won't even get into my subway story.

I was up there for vacation..to see the Rangers lose to the Fvcking Yankees..and to see the PGA Championship
It didnt help that it was hotter there than it is in Texas right now.....and..I only saw like 5 hot girls the entire time there.
Oh and my flight got cancelled last night so I had to fvck around at the airport for 8 hours and wait in line at 3am to get standby for a 6am flight...
only to have a damn lady on the plane lean her seat back..so i had to..

It took me awhile to get used to new york. i live in long island it is alot better. i can go into the city and use it as i see fit. New York is wonderful if you know someone that lives there and they can take around. The Meat Packing district is great, SoHo is fun too. You just don't know where to go.

you either hate it or love it...you have to know the right places to go and where not to go, if you're in manhattan there is a TON of places to go if you like people, women shopping , there really is something for everyone. Me personally i just like to dress up and walk the streets all day, today i saw kevin bacon, conan o'brien and glenn close not that it means anything but it's just alot of things going on at once
