    shoulder injury

I injured my shoulder a week ago doing close grip bench press. I think I pulled my front deltoid. It hurts when I raise my arm up. It's just starting to feel OK. I'll take another week off of any upper body movement (I'll hit my legs hard tho).

Anybody know if I should wait any longer than a week to start doing upper body exercises again? And when I start back, how should I go about it?

    Thanks in advance

(P.S.: Didn't know where to post this. We should have a med forum)

It sounds like a partial torn rotator cuff........... You can do a google search and Cryotherapy (cold Therapy) is prefered method of treatment

I don't think it's my rotator cuff... I don't feel it like in the inside of my shoulder. I feel it in the front delt. But I'm no specialist so maybe your right... I'll try google. Thanks.

If anybody has other suggestions, feel free to add to this thread.

If someone else could enlighten me, I'd really appreciate it.

I'm off to the gym for some heavy leg work!

any exercise you do that involves your shoulder or pain in yer shoulder, just start out very light and work your way up each workout. if you feel pain STOP and dont continue until it is recovered. glucosamine chonndroitin and I have heard CELEDRIN can really help with any mobility problems. I have dislocated my shoulder at least 6 times, physical therapy said they couldnt do anything for me and I need surgery. This is basically what I have done and I am able to perform almost any exercise without pain or discomfort now. Good luck and have patience.

Be carefull with anything to do with the shoulders bro...

I destroyed (permanently) my left trap at my aikido dojo many years ago... (and silly me I ignored it hoping it would go away)... to this day it causes me problems in the shoulder rotator when I lift too heavy as the rotator isn't supported properly.

Make sure it heals properly and lift light on it for a while... maybe look into physio.

how it feels, what kind of diet yer on and how hard you have hit the muscle prior. There is a lot of variables when it comes to knowing when exactly it is fully recovered.
