Angry Canada vs. USA Gas Prices...

Excuse me while I go for a few minutes here. I live in Canada where our rediculous government has converted everything into Litres in regards to gas. When I first started driving, I could buy gas at 43 cents a litre... for you American's... that's $1.72 a gallon. Since then gas prices have gone up faster then anyone could imagine. At the beginning of this summer, I purchased gas for 73 cents a litre... that's $2.92 a gallon.... since then, I am paying $1.04 for friggin gas as of today... now heres my beef... Canadians let the government walk all over us and rape us for every penny when it comes to gas. Now, this may seem like no big deal to many of you, but for all the americans... how would you react if your gas prices went up 94 cents a gallon within a week? You would LOOSE IT!!! This is why I hate the metric conversion!!! It just wouldn't happen in the states without a fight, but we let this happen on a daily basis without a peep! What is the average going price of gas right now in the US?

The oil companies are fvcking us in the ass with these gas prices and they are only going to get higher from what hear. They don't even supply us with any lube anymore as they bend us over the table even farther.

I paid 2.79 a gallon the other day...I wasn't happy about that. What I don't understand is that the United States get the majority of their oil from Canada and Central America yet all the gad prices are still high.

What about the difference in the dollar value compared to their money? Last I checked their money was worth more, or was this factored in.

That ain nothin, here in Australia it is $1.35 a litre that's $5 a gallon in Australian dollars and over $4 a gallon in US currency. The Australian and Canadian currency is worth about the same these days too...

So for all those who are think they are getting raped... there is always someone who is worse off.... I bet the British guys here pay even more than we do...

no offence to you at all 305 but that is the attitude that needs to bleed out of us

I am not any tree hugging maniac. But something drastic needs to happen and since humans only think financialy then we need to suffer financialy for a change to occur.

not from a enviormental point of view. mostly a economical. When the oil production starts to decline rapidly we will be screwed. Better to bump prices now so alterantives becomes appealing economicaly while still having a period of plenty of oil left.

No use in thinking about alternates after the oil runs out. Then it will be to late to change the entire infrastructure of society.

I'm amazed by how many people don't know how to convert liters to gallons. One US gallon is equal to 3.78 Liters.

Did you also take into account that one British gallon is equal to 1.2 US gallons?
