Damn you crazy man. I'd get the fuk outta there ASAP. Good luck riding it out. It looks like it's heading straight your way as i'm reading cnn.com. What do all the people in the ghettos do? Do they ride it out also? New Orleans has alot of ghettos. Just wondering. Stay safe and use your muscles to beat it since you're not using your brain.

Well, I'm staying right here, girlfriend! I got my plywood up, my generator ready, and sensible shoes on. This is going to be a serious one, though. Even the ROundup closed down and boarded up. I had to have my morning bloody mary at the Double Play, and I hate that place.
In the next 24 hours, probably all of Plaquemines Parish will be under water. New Orleans East will probably be under water. Probably half of St Bernard Parish will also be flooded. They figure the surge will top the levees from the 9th ward on down. They will probably manage to keep the French Quarter pumped out, and I'm on the second floor so I should be okay, but I'm not even gonna LOOK outside once it starts blowing. Girl, this is one serious hurricane coming. Now give Anna a kiss for good luck and if I'm not online for a couple of days, it's probably just the wires down.
Starting to look ugly out there now. No rain yet but a pretty stiff breeze is already starting up, and lots of gloomy clouds everywhere.
Okay bye for now, everyone!
Waiting for it to blow over,
in sensible shoes,
Anna Bollick

Probably not the smartest choice to ride it out. They say everything is gonna be contaminated with sewage and chemicals in the flood. It's gonna be one big mess. Goodluck.

Just watched CNN a little (I seldom watch any north american news), I had no idea the hurricane was THAT big... Katrina is not just strong, but she's darn wide and slow moving... thats gonna hurt!
Holy crap that puts things in perspective.... people think we're "killing the planet"... looks like the planet can do more damage in a few hours all by herself than we can in a lifetime...
Good luck to all the bros in Louisiana and also Mississippi and Alabama too... looks like things are not going to be fun for a little while down there. Keep your families safe.

The all-around nicest guy in New Orleans, The Baron, is off-line and presumably somewhere where he will not be killed by an hurricane.
Follow the man's example in this as in all things.
Best luck to you all in the Big Easy.

The roof is leaking in the superdome, with 15,000 people inside. 6-8 feet of water in ST Bernard and the 9th ward. I don't have a safe way to look outside but the wind is not too bad so far. Must be about 100, maybe less. Every once in a while something flies into the building but my windows are intact so far. I think this is gonna be okay, at least for me. Knock on wood, girls! My young gentleman friend has been a big help, even though he is scared out of his wits. He is not local and has never seen a hurricane except on TV. Girlfriend, let me tell you, it isn't anywhere like a cat 5 but it is still whistling and humming pretty loud out there! Hopefully it won't get much worse than this.
Hope you are doing okay, Legend, and everyone else. I saw on TV before the darn thing quit picking up anything but some preacher fellow, that the storm has turned even more to the east. Too bad it didn't do that earlier! But it will still provide a bit of relief to we in the city, though at terrible cost to others, and may God bless and protect them all.
Well let's see if I still have a connextion... I'll send this thing and make us a nice Irish coffee. Funny how the storm is bringing out my softer, feminine, domestic side. Or maybe it is that lovely young man trying to be so protective of me even though he is completely out of his element. My phone is dead, so this is via cel. I am gonna shut this computer down and turn off the phone to save the batteries, but I will try to check in again tonight.
Love you all!

Okay, all, everything was fine until the levvee broke at the 17th street canal. Now the city is full of water from the Lake. Looters are everywhere, and nobody is doing anything to stop them. They stole mail trucks and filled them with stuff. They broke into Walmart and stole all the guns and of course everything else. They looted pharmacies, and looters are even shooting each other. It is totally lawless out there. I got a ride lined up to the West Bank... I will be house-sitting in Westwego for an occasional, er, friend, on one of the west bank fire departments. People in the superdome are being moved, most to the astrodome in houston, where there is electicity, sewerage, even air conditioning. It looks like weeks to get power back on. Sometimes the phone works, and sometimes I get some water to flow from the tap, though of course I have to boil it. My place suffered some damage, but it is still liveable except in the back room, and all repairable. The main thing of course is the sanitary issues, the electric (why don't they make an air conditioner that runs off natural gas, I ask?) and the gangs of looters. They are violent, girlfriend! I hate to leave and let them trash the place, but I need some relief, and my fire chief friend can get all the gas he needs, and he has a generator and air conditioning, and all I have to do is protect his home for him while he is working 16+ hour days. I am, therefore, regretably leaving my dear city that has been so good to me and for me all these years, both as a man and as I am now. It is a sad thing, girl. I am crying as I type this, because I don't want to leave! But it just isn't safe, and I can start over again.
It will take time, but we WILL rebuild our lovely city! Just as soon as we get it pumped out. And thank God I don't live on the ground floor!
I have a new friend. Troy skedaddled when we heard that the water was coming. I rescued a little kitty and named her Katherine, and we are definitely now best friends. I carried two two-and-a-half gallon thermoses full of coffee down St Claude to where they were unloading people from the boats to transport them to the superdome Monday night, and I handed out plastic cups full of coffee to the rescued and rescuer alike until I ran out. I thought I would run out of cups first, but a nice fireman geve me a box of those little cone cups from his water cooler, and many people, even total strangers, shared cups when I told them I was running out but still had lots of coffee to give to people. A nice policeman gave me a ride back. The looters weren't out yet, then, but it was still kind of dangerous and tecknically there was a curfew of sorts. It felt good to be welcomed and to be a part of something like that, helping people who didn't care who or what I am, just thankrul for one of the small joys in life, a cup of hot coffee, at a time of trial and tribulation. I guess now that, along with rescuing Katherine, makes me a Juiced Shemale Rescue Hooker! Hey, can I have that for a custom title? Pretty please?
Well I got a smile from writing that, and my tears are drying now. It was just my estrogen, I guess. Things really aren't that bad for me. A neighbor has came back and has a generator. I get to plug in and recharge batteries in return for a little sexual favor now and then. So far, just then, and not too much now stuff. In other words, just once, so far. He is too worried to get it up, anyway. I am leaving him my M1A1 and 300 rounds, and taking my 12 pump and my Ruger Super Redhawk. I do love a gun that speaks with authority! Well, I have to pack. I hope to be back as soon as we get all those people out of the water and get the cops and national guard out there shooting and arresting looters and criminal gangs.
Love and kisses

And I REALLY want that for a title!

i wonder what they will do with all the buildings that are not destroyed, but are somewhat flooded. For example it appears there are a lot of office buildings, with the lower levels flooded, but the upper levels generally okay. How are they going to clean up mucky and messy water from these buildings?
and how will they de-contaminate/sanatize the Superdome and Convention Center? Apparently...this is kind of gross, but unfortunately it was the situation for the poor people...i heard people were forced to do their business on the floor in these buildings instead of in the toilets, since they got clogged quickly and there was no power.
