OMG the pain!!!!! (warning pics)

Last thursday i musta got bit by somthing in my sleep . I'm guessing it was a wolf spider because we get alot here this time of year . They look like mini taranchla's

Started out looking like a big mosquito bite . By Sunday the pain was so bad i went to the ER , the doc gave me a anti-biotic . It's been getting worse.....the doc dint seem to interested , so i went to my family doc today because now its the size of a golf ball , maybe bigger , and all kids of colors .

I can barly walk , its right above my right butt cheek .

It hurts so much i cant even touch it lightly . So the doc wants to cut it open . He cant numb it , so i said no . So im sitting here drinking beers till im man enough to do it myself and somewhat numb myself , maybe soak in the tub first.

I've never seen a bite like this , check out these pics .

a brown recluse is a type of spider that's extremely prevelent in homes in north america (esp. ohio) and is considered the second most dangerous in the US (behind the black widow).

it has a type of toxin in it's venom that kills tissue locally from the bite outward, and from the pics i've seen of their bites, they're pretty consistant with the ulcerated infection you have.

Go to another doc and get another opinion. I was bitten by a spider and it looked like that, but even with medication it took over 4 weeks to go away, and it is AGONY! It may help if they lance it, I don't see why they can't numb it, what was the reason he gave you? In any case I'd get another opinion....

sounds like a retarded doc, there are options when it comes to anesthetic. There are topical gels, gas, hell they could even put you to sleep if you really couldn't handle it. injecting novacaine is nOT the only way to kill pain.

Jeez, I hope you haven't done it yet, b/c it could get much worse (gangrene, etc.)
This is coming from someone who has had two abcesses (not spider bites, but still). The Dr removed appx a liter of blood, pus, etc from the last one. I wanted to cut that sh*t myself too. I was using a walker for old people in the days prior to surgery.

that 2nd pic is a brown recluse not a wolf spider. my bro does pest control and he always tells me wolf spiders are ugly but harmless. but the brown recluse bite looks similar to that and it will start to tunnel in until all the poison has been neutralized by antibiotics. u need to get back to the doc do some research on brown recluse bites and u will see what i mean.
